We are delighted to announce that we have received a National Lottery award of £90k a year, from The National Lottery Community Fund for the next 3 x years, to deliver our unique project that will enable
‘STRONGER ‘SPECIAL’ FAMILIES’
This project will fulfil our mission to build a sustainable, supportive community, for parents/families who care for a child/young person with Special Educational Needs and Disability (SEND).
This project is a very important innovative extension to our work where over the last few years we have identified that 60% of our service users suffering relationship breakdown/family crisis include a child/young person with SEND.
We will expand on our current work, building an inclusive, supportive community for families affected by disability, supporting them through challenges they face before reaching crisis point.
Our new project that will begin in the Autumn of 2024 is specific to families who care for a child/young person with SEND. Families that we consider to be among the most vulnerable in our society. The project will provide a team of professional counsellors that understands the needs of the ‘whole family’. The project has strong links to other local charities that share our mission for greater accessibility/inclusivity, creating a strong community.
